PROCESS

During research I realised there is a lot of plants and communities out there, but no good “second hand” marketplace for it. Many people have a lot of plant cuttings at home, and have already shared them with friends and family. Some wants to find new species for a good price, locally and sustainable. And when they find new plants they seek for advice on plant care. So where can you find the marketplace and care guide all together?

Created personas and a customer journey to understand my customers needs and wants. I created a site map and grey boxes for the first prototype test. By using both physical and online Maze testing I was able to identify areas of improvement in navigation and accessibility.

SOLUTION

Stickly, a digital marketplace where plant lovers can buy, sell and exchange plants with other users. With care advice for each plant to make it easier taking care of your new and existing plants. With help of voice based AI, users can easily navigate in the app for example searching for specific plants or getting real-time care advice.

VISUAL IDENTITY

When I created Stickly I wanted a feeling of harmony that breaths greenery and calm which plants often give. So the main colours started out with “Sage green” with complements with a deeper “Forest green” and a “Barely green”. Albert sans is the font chosen with a minimalistic feel and I chose to work with soft shapes to enhance the harmonic feeling. The name Stickly is a play on the swedish name for propagation cutting, “stickling”. I felt that we need a nice word for the plant cuttings in english. The logotype is inspired by the cuttings with the stickling in mind with roots and leafs.
